Addictions Resources

There are many different treatment options for people who suffer from drug or alcohol addiction. Here are just a couple of examples of websites that provide information about rehab and treatment options:

Alcohol Rehab Guide is a free web guide with a mission to provide valuable information to help people understand the effects of alcoholism and the variety of ways to find help.

The Addiction Group provides comprehensive rehabilitation resources to help you find treatment options for yourself or your loved one. Here is the link to their resources.

Caring provides support for seniors. Here is a link to their Guide for Seniors Struggling with Addiction.

When you or your loved one is out of the grips of active addiction, contact us. Let’s gather a group together in your community and let’s do a PeerCommunity CoCare Program that will empower them to support each other.

Some Good Stuff to Know About

  • Every little town in rural America that has been so sorely devastated by the “diseases of despair” needs an organization like this one: Provoking Hope. Mistakes made by society and government institutions over the last fifty years have crippled the United States and failed huge swaths of its people. Who was this land made for? is a question worth asking. There is significant work that needs doing to mend the serious outcomes. Please know: Something can be done about it!

  • Please look into the work of Captain Paul K. Chappell. Understanding war and knowing how to wage peace are knowledge and skills we all need, particularly our children. Wage Peace! It’s time to be conversant with the Art of Waging Peace. We are including a module on Waging Peace and the Vocabulary of Peace in our Community Leadership Class.

  • This one comes under the heading “Choices” or “Avoidable Trauma”. This organization was founded in response to the growing health concerns surrounding vaping. Their mission is to help those who were harmed by e-cigarettes and other vaping products. Their team consists of writers, editors, and patient advocates who connect victims to important resources. Here’s their website: https://www.vapedanger.com/

  • Smart people doing clever things to make effective contributions to build a better world is what we need. Be part of the solution. Here’s one worth supporting: Braver Angels. “A Time of Crisis - A Call to Courage”. Listen to the conversations on their podcast. Take action!
